Job Description:
Are you a boutique hotel general manager with strong Food & Beverage expertise? Emerson Inn By The Sea is seeking a dynamic hospitality executive to lead our 35-room historic coastal inn in Rockport, MA.
This role is ideal for a hospitality professional who excels in operational leadership, F&B program management, and guest experience strategy within an independent hotel environment.
What You’ll Lead:
1. Executive Hotel Operations
Direct all day-to-day operations across Rooms, F&B, Events, Housekeeping, HR, and Maintenance
Maintain high visibility during peak service hours
Drive service culture and team alignment
2. Full-Scope Food & Beverage Management
Oversee menu engineering, pricing strategy, beverage programming
Manage vendor relationships and purchasing
Maintain inventory controls and COGS targets
Supervise Chef and Bar Manager
3. Talent & Culture Development
Recruit, onboard, and mentor team members
Manage labor scheduling and payroll approval
Foster accountability and team collaboration
4. Financial Performance & Revenue Optimization
Monitor Occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, and Labor Cost %
Control budgets and expenses
Improve profitability across lodging, dining, and events
5. Weddings & Retreats Oversight
Collaborate with Event Manager on execution and logistics
Ensure seamless event-to-guest integration
Requirements:
• 3+ years in hotel management (independent/boutique preferred)
• Strong F&B operational leadership
• Experience with PMS/POS systems
• Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and payroll
• Comfortable working weekends, evenings, and seasonal demands
Compensation & Benefits:
• Competitive Salary: $75,000–$85,000
