Main Duties and Responsibilities
• Lead business analysis for ERP and business systems initiatives, including gathering
business requirements, analyzing process gaps, defining functional and technical
requirements, and recommending system improvements aligned with company objectives.
• Develop and support ERP implementation and migration strategies, including process
mapping, data migration planning, risk assessment, stakeholder coordination, user
acceptance testing, implementation planning, and progress tracking across company sites,
including Alberta-based operations.
• Act as a key liaison between business departments, leadership, external vendors, and
technical teams to ensure ERP and IT system changes are clearly defined, properly
prioritized, and successfully implemented.
• Analyze existing IT systems and business processes across departments, assess how
technology is used, identify inefficiencies, and recommend practical system and process
improvements to improve operational performance.
• Lead ERP data governance and reporting improvement initiatives by analyzing data
quality issues, defining validation requirements, improving data accuracy and
completeness, and ensuring reliable data for reporting and business decision-making.
• Analyze departmental reporting, analytics, and operational data needs, and work with
stakeholders to design user-friendly reports, dashboards, and data extraction processes
that support business visibility and decision-making.
• Identify, analyze, and help resolve risks, issues, and process gaps in ERP, software
implementation, and business systems projects, applying change management practices
to support successful project outcomes and user adoption.
• Support internal and external compliance activities from an IT systems perspective by
documenting business processes, reviewing system controls, supporting audit evidence
preparation, and recommending improvements to IT governance practices.
• Lead business analysis and project coordination for system modernization initiatives,
including SharePoint, OneDrive, cloud-based solutions, communication systems, and
other business technology platforms, by assessing requirements, user impact, transition
risks, and business value.
• Evaluate technology service usage, software licensing requirements, vendor proposals,
and system improvement options from an IT business systems perspective, and provide
analysis and recommendations to support cost optimization, service consolidation, and
business system effectiveness.
• Develop and maintain ERP and IT system process documentation, SOPs, and policy-
related materials to support system governance, compliance, knowledge transfer, and
consistent business operations.
• Support change management and user adoption for new or improved systems by
assessing user impact, coordinating communication with stakeholders, documenting
process changes, and helping maintain operational continuity during technology
transitions.
Required Skills or Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Systems, or a
directly related field.
• 5–10 years of relevant experience in IT business analysis, business systems, ERP,
system implementation, or related IT environments.
• Strong experience gathering business requirements, analyzing business processes,
defining functional and technical requirements, and supporting system improvement
initiatives.
• Proven experience with ERP systems, including ERP implementation, migration, upgrade,
data governance, reporting, or business process improvement projects, preferably in
Microsoft ERP environments.
• Experience with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, OneDrive, cloud-based business systems, or
system modernization initiatives from a business systems, migration, or user adoption
perspective.
• Strong understanding of IT governance, system controls, IT security fundamentals, and IT
risk management from a business systems perspective.
• Experience evaluating software licensing requirements, vendor proposals, service options,
cost impacts, and business value for IT and ERP system initiatives from a business
systems perspective.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, stakeholder communication, and
change management skills.
• Relevant IT, ERP, Microsoft, business analysis, or cloud-related certifications are
considered an asset.
Secondary Skills
• Experience in agricultural, manufacturing, logistics, greenhouse, or multi-site operational
environments.
• Exposure to Microsoft Dynamics NAV, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, or other
ERP systems.
• Experience supporting ERP data migration, data validation, reporting, dashboards, or
business intelligence processes.
• Experience working with finance, operations, planning, shipping, receiving, procurement,
