Benefits Generalist I (Hybrid - Columbia, SC)



The Benefits Generalist I is responsible for managing and administering a broad scope of employee benefits programs, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing exceptional support to employees and our HR partners in the Farm Credit Benefits Alliance (FCBA) supported entities. The Generalist will research and respond to participant and HR Representative inquiries about retirement or benefits accounting specialties. Communicates health and welfare benefit plans and annual enrollment activities. Assists with the coordination of Bank wellness activities. Presents benefits information to groups of new Bank employees. Plans and performs specialized assignments and projects.



What you'll do
- Develops communications and presentations for a wide variety of benefits needs, ensuring the material is presented appropriately for the audience and content while ensuring the accuracy of materials
- Coordinates with benefits team and marketing, customer support, etc. to ensure the success of communications
- Assists employees with benefits-related inquiries and issues
- Assist employees with questions during annual enrollment or life events.
- Assists benefits team members with projects requiring team support in a variety of ways including system reporting or keying, research, assistance with communications, etc.


What you'll need
- Associate or Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in benefits administration or a related HR or accounting role
- HR or benefits-related certification is preferred.
- Knowledge of benefits regulations and compliance requirements
- Able to research problems and recommend solutions. Strong attention to detail is needed to ensure compliance with benefits regulations.
- Able to analyze processes to recommend efficiencies to streamline work
- Proficiency in HRIS and benefits administration systems, as well as MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Presentation skills required to conduct onboarding, and other benefits sessions for employees and HR Partners. Able to draft informative, concise communications
