Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated engineer to join our team in advanced vehicle benchmarking and emissions analysis. In this role, you will play a key part in evaluating competitive technologies, shaping future strategies, and ensuring alignment with evolving global regulations. This position offers a hands-on opportunity to work with cutting-edge vehicle systems while collaborating with cross-functional teams and external partners worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze and benchmark competitor vehicle emission control systems, including evaporative emissions (EVAP), to assess performance and identify improvement opportunities
Evaluate competitor onboard diagnostic (OBD) systems through repair manual reviews and hands-on vehicle testing
Coordinate rental, preparation, and instrumentation of competitor vehicles for detailed benchmarking activities
Lead testing activities including setup, data acquisition, analysis, and reporting
Develop clear and actionable technical reports, presentations, and documentation for stakeholders
Collaborate with internal engineering teams, benchmarking technicians, global counterparts, and external laboratories
Support software validation by confirming logic and calibration values
Work closely with suppliers and external partners to execute testing and benchmarking programs
Monitor and interpret emissions and OBD regulatory trends (EPA, CARB, and global agencies) to inform future development and benchmarking strategies
Complete required technical and operational training to support project execution

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
Minimum 2 years of experience in competitor benchmarking or related engineering analysis
Strong understanding of internal combustion engine theory and operation
Proven ability to investigate technical issues and implement effective solutions
Experience with emissions, drivability, OBD, or powertrain calibration (conventional and/or hybrid systems)
Familiarity with global calibration practices (e.g., Japan, Europe, China) is a plus
Experience with model-based development or calibration methodologies
Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink and programming languages such as C/C++, Python, or VBA
Working knowledge of project management tools and Microsoft Office Suite
Solid understanding of emissions and OBD regulations across multiple markets
Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a diverse, global environment
Valid driver’s license with a strong driving record
