Employment Terms: Permanent - Full Time
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Cut and trim hair according to clients’ instructions and/or current hairstyles.
2. Shape, trim and shape clients’ beards and moustache using scissors/clippers.
3. Recommend cuts, treatments, and other services to clients.
4. Shampoo hair and provide other hair treatment, such as waving, straightening, tinting or scalp conditioning massage.
5. Inquire from clients about hair care preferences and suggest appropriate resolutions to hair and scalp issues.
6. Answer clients’ questions regarding barbershop’s facilities and hair care products.
7. Keep work station, tools, and equipment sanitized and in good condition.
8. Schedule appointments, maintain records of work performed, and inventory of equipment and supplies.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
1. Knowledge of current hairstyles and trends.
2. Attention to detail
3. Good communication, listening, and interpersonal skills
4. Organizational and time-management abilities
5. The ability to stand for extended periods of time.
6. Good customer service
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
1. Completion of secondary education is required
2. Minimum of two years related work experience
3. Trade Certification for Hairstylist
WORKING HOURS: Work schedule varies between 10:00am to 8:00pm; 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week; 2 varied days off per week
WAGE AND BENEFITS: $21.20/hour, Health and Dental Insurance
