Job Description:
Spaccio East, located at 22 Sackville Street in Toronto, operates as Terroni’s commissary kitchen, central food production, and retail facility supplying food items to affiliated Terroni restaurant and retail locations across the Greater Toronto Area, while also functioning as a restaurant and retail storefront open to the public. Using traditional methods and imported Italian ingredients, the facility produces a wide selection of baked products and packaged food items intended for in-store retail sale and internal supply.

We are currently seeking an experienced Bakery Manager to oversee the retail bakery operations and ensure the effective coordination of production, inventory, and distribution of baked goods intended for retail sale and supply to affiliated locations.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES:

In this position you will be responsible for:

- Oversee the daily operations of the retail bakery department, including coordination of production for in-store sale and supply of baked goods to affiliated Terroni locations
- Monitor stock levels of retail bakery products and coordinate ordering of imported flours, specialty ingredients, and packaging materials with approved suppliers
- Review sales trends of retail bakery items and adjust production planning to meet customer demand
- Coordinate preparation and distribution of retail bakery merchandise intended for delivery to affiliated Terroni locations across the Greater Toronto Area
- Develop production schedules to ensure consistent availability of baked goods for retail sale
- Supervise bakery department staff involved in preparation, packaging, and retail display of baked products
- Maintain internal records related to inventory, product availability, and inter-location distribution
- Implement procedures for handling, storage, and retail presentation of packaged baked goods while monitoring product consistency and quality
- Support the introduction of new retail bakery items based on seasonal offerings and customer demand
- Ensure retail bakery operations comply with applicable health and safety standards

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

- Secondary school diploma
- Minimum 2 years of experience in bakery operations, retail food production, or supervisory role within a bakery or food retail environment
- Experience supervising staff and coordinating operational workflow
- Knowledge of inventory control and retail product handling practices
- Experience in procurement and supplier coordination is an asset

COMPENSATION & CONDITIONS:

- Permanent, full-time position
- $90,000.00 per annum
- 37.5 hours of work per week
- Extended health and dental benefits
