Automotive Service Technician

Responsibilities:
• Perform diagnostics using computerized diagnostic equipment and scan tools to identify mechanical and electronic issues in a wide range of domestic and imported vehicles .
• Inspect, diagnose, repair, and replace automotive systems and components including engines, transmissions, steering, suspension, braking systems, fuel systems, and electrical systems.
• Perform wheel alignments and suspension adjustments according to manufacturer specifications using computerized alignment equipment.
• Inspect and troubleshoot electrical and electronic systems including wiring, sensors, control modules, charging systems, and starting systems.
• Conduct preventative maintenance services and complete vehicle inspections to ensure vehicle safety, reliability, and performance.
• Perform welding and fabrication work for exhaust system repairs, chassis repairs, and related automotive applications using MIG welding and oxy-acetylene equipment.
• Test repaired vehicles and verify proper operation of all systems after repairs are completed.
• Review work orders and document diagnostic findings, repair procedures, and parts used for service records and quality control purposes.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with workplace safety procedures.

Required:
• A Licensed Automotive Service Technician (310S) or a journey-level apprentice who has completed all required apprenticeship training hours and is eligible to challenge the Certificate of Qualification (CofQ) examination is required.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in automotive repair and diagnostics is required.
• Valid Driver’s Licence
• Completion of secondary school is required.
• Experience with wheel alignments, suspension repairs, and welding is considered an asset.
• Ability to use computerized diagnostic equipment and automotive service software.
• Professional proficiency in English.
• Fast-paced, hand-eye co-ordination, attention to details, standing for extended periods
• Able work flexible shifts including morning and weekend

Wage $36.00~$40.00 (CAD) per hour
