Position Overview:
The Automotive Service Technician is responsible for a variety of duties relating to the repair and maintenance of vehicles of various makes and models.
Key Responsibilities:
Repair/Maintenance
Road test motor vehicles and test automotive systems and components for diagnostic of issues
Complete maintenance service as well as courtesy inspections
Perform automotive repairs including but not limited to: front-end, engine repair, tune-ups, brake systems, exhaust and transmission
Review all repairs with the management or service advisors prior to executing repairs
Notify the management or service advisors if any unforeseen issues arise
Assist other team members with repairs/maintenance as required
Shop Related
Work area, shop bench and shop and personal toolboxes must be organized, neat and tidy.
Shop cleanliness to be maintained throughout the day.
Shop tools and equipment must be kept clean and maintained to retain good condition and ensure long-term operation.
Proper disposal as it pertains to hazardous materials, recyclables and metal.
Customer Service
Greet customers in the parking lot and direct them to service advisors or management as required.
Assist with answering the phones if the service advisors are tied up.
Keep customer vehicles clean & free from any damages.
Offer parking lot assistance when limited parking / room is available.
General
Full-time position, 8 hours a day with a ½ hour unpaid lunch break and potential for OT.
CSA-approved steel-toe boots a must.
Must follow OHS regulations.
Skills/Qualifications:
Able to take direction and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.
Able to multi-task and prioritize jobs.
Able to work as a team as well as independently.
Must be physically fit & capable of lifting and moving items up to +50 lbs.
Experience/knowledge in the automotive trade a MUST
