Job Requirements
Education: College diploma in Automotive Service Technology or a related field
Experience: Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience as an automotive service technician
Policy and program experience: Apprenticeship training

Key Duties and Responsibilities (Aligned with NOC 72410)
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical and electrical systems in automobiles and light trucks
• Perform scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrication, and tune-ups
• Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer specifications using diagnostic equipment
• Repair or replace parts and components including engines, transmissions, braking systems, steering, suspension, and exhaust systems
• Diagnose and repair electrical and electronic systems, including EV and hybrid vehicle components
• Perform wheel alignments, tire services, and balancing
• Use computerized diagnostic tools to identify faults and ensure proper vehicle performance
• Provide repair estimates and explain work performed to customers when required. Advice customers for future repairs.
