Position Summary
The Automotive Service Technician Apprentice will work under the supervision of experienced technicians to inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair a wide range of automotive systems and components. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals pursuing a career in the automotive trade while gaining valuable hands-on experience in a professional repair facility.
Duties and Responsibilities
> Review work orders and discuss repair requirements with supervisors.
> Inspect and test mechanical units to identify faults and malfunctions.
> Inspect motors while in operation to detect irregularities.
> Confirm diagnostic findings with supervisors to determine appropriate repair or replacement procedures.
> Test automotive systems and components using diagnostic equipment.
> Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of automotive systems.
> Repair or replace defective mechanical units and components.
> Perform scheduled maintenance services, including inspections and preventative maintenance.
> Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer specifications.
> Road test motor vehicles to verify repairs and performance.
> Estimate parts and labour costs for vehicle maintenance and repair services.
> Advise customers on completed work and future repair requirements.
> Complete reports documenting diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance performed.
> Provide professional and courteous customer service.
> Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in accordance with workplace safety standards.
Work hours - minimum 30 hours per week
Job Type - Permanent, Full-time
Experience Required - 1 year to less than 2 years
Education Required - Secondary School
