Job Requirements:
Specific Skills:
• Perform automotive mechanic duties to repair and maintain vehicles in good condition
• Inspect machines, engines, transmissions etc. and run diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues
• Inspect various parts of the vehicle and ensure they are in the proper condition to operate effectively
• Detect and note down defects in automotive systems
• Conduct repairs aiming for maximum reliability
• Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner
• Perform through maintenance on machinery, equipment and systems
• Clean and apply lubricants to machinery components
• Replenish fluids and components of engines and machinery
• Provide consultation on correct maintenance and preventative measures to machine or vehicle users
• Diagnose malfunctions in defective equipment by inspecting and testing using devises such as motor analyzers, handheld computers and chassis charts to determine how to address problems
• Undertake other duties as assigned (e.g. repair of hydraulic systems, painting vehicles etc.)
• Test drive vehicles to ensure they are running properly and to find issues to determine the solution
• Measure vehicle emissions to ensure they are in the proper limits
• Ensure parts conform to factory specifications by inspecting and verifying clearances and dimensions
• Repair exhaust, brakes, hydraulic, electrical suspension and fuel ignition of automotive vehicles
• Check and repair electrical suspensions and wheel alignments of automotive vehicles
• Perform oil changes, tire rotations, and belt changes of automotive vehicles
• Check and repair air conditioning, computer and electronic systems
• Maintain and manage tools, equipment and machinery in good condition
• Ensure total customer satisfaction through excellent automotive mechanic services
• Keep logs of work and report on issues
Qualifications:
• Must be able to communicate in English
• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
• Certification: Automotive Service Technician Trade
• 3 years to less than 5 years of experience
• Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment; Hand-eye co-ordination; Attention to detail; Manual dexterity; Standing for extended periods
• Personal suitability: Accurate; Client focus; Dependability; Flexibility; Judgement; Reliability; Team player
