Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Automobile Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain passenger vehicles in accordance with manufacturer specifications and safety standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, identifying mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic equipment, and repairing or replacing defective components such as engines, brakes, steering, suspension, and exhaust systems, and testing vehicles to ensure proper performance. The role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced automotive service environment while maintaining accurate service records and a safe, organized workspace.
Job Requirements:
- Completion of Secondary School
- Minimum 3-5 Years as an Automobile Mechanic
- Automotive Service Technician Trade Certification
- Automotive Service Technician (Transmission) Trade Certification
Job Responsibilities:
-Inspect, diagnose, and test mechanical units and automotive systems to identify faults and malfunctions
-Inspect motors in operation and perform road tests to assess vehicle performance
-Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of automotive systems, including engines, brakes, steering, suspension, and exhaust systems
-Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of commercial transport truck systems, where applicable
-Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer specifications and industry standards
-Perform scheduled and preventive maintenance services
-Repair and overhaul mechanical units to ensure adherence to safety standards and established procedures
-Confirm inspection findings with the supervisor to determine whether components should be repaired or replaced
-Estimate parts and labour costs for vehicle maintenance and repair work
-Complete detailed reports documenting vehicle issues, repairs performed, and work completed
-Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining quality and efficiency
