Summary:
Provides technical support and operational assistance for audiovisual, video conferencing, presentation, and collaboration technology across meeting rooms and shared workplace spaces. Ensures AV systems are prepared and functioning correctly for meetings and events, assists users with technology requirements, troubleshoots equipment issues, and works with internal teams and external service providers to maintain reliable workplace technology.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare conference rooms, meeting spaces, and collaboration areas for scheduled meetings and events.
Check audiovisual and technology equipment before meetings to ensure systems are operational and ready for use.
Provide hands-on technical support for displays, projectors, cameras, microphones, speakers, video conferencing systems, control panels, and related equipment.
Assist employees, clients, and meeting organisers with the use of audiovisual and collaboration technology.
Recommend suitable meeting spaces and technology based on the requirements, size, and purpose of each event.
Perform routine inspections and functionality checks of conference room technology.
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve audiovisual and technology issues in a timely manner.
Escalate complex technical problems to appropriate internal teams, manufacturers, integrators, or service providers when required.
Coordinate with external AV vendors for equipment servicing, repairs, installations, upgrades, and preventative maintenance.
Schedule and supervise third-party technicians carrying out maintenance or technical work.
Operate conference room and event technology when additional technical assistance is required.
Support video conferences, including starting calls, managing cameras and microphones, adjusting room settings, and resolving connection issues.
Assist with presentation switching, live meeting support, digital recording, and other event technology requirements.
Ensure meeting rooms remain appropriately equipped and configured for their intended use.
Maintain awareness of equipment condition and report defective, outdated, or unreliable technology.
Keep appropriate records relating to equipment, maintenance, technical issues, and service activities.
Work collaboratively with IT, workplace technology, facilities, project, and other support teams.
Maintain a high standard of customer service when supporting users and important meetings
Handle confidential, sensitive, financial, and proprietary information responsibly.
Follow established technology, security, safety, and workplace procedures.
Maintain professional relationships with customers, colleagues, suppliers, manufacturers, and external technology partners.
Stay informed about developments in audiovisual, video conferencing, and workplace collaboration technology.
Participate in training, technical development, and knowledge-sharing activities.
Perform other related audiovisual and technology-support duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
Strong practical knowledge of professional audiovisual and video conferencing technologies.
Good understanding of displays, projectors, cameras, microphones, speakers, codecs, room-control systems, and related AV equipment.
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills with the ability to identify technical faults and determine appropriate solutions.
Ability to provide effective technical support in a professional customer-facing environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong customer-service and interpersonal skills.
Ability to explain technical information clearly to users with different levels of technical knowledge.
Ability to remain calm and organised when dealing with urgent technical problems or high-priority meetings.
Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying potential equipment problems.

Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Audiovisual Technology, or a related discipline preferred.
Three (3) or more years of experience providing technical support involving PC hardware, software, audiovisual equipment, or workplace technology preferred.
Practical experience supporting professional audiovisual and conferencing systems.
Experience troubleshooting cameras, microphones, displays, projectors, codecs, speakers, and room-control systems.
Experience supporting video conferencing platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Cisco Webex, or comparable solutions.
Experience working with AV integrators, manufacturers, technology vendors, or service providers is advantageous.
Industry-recognised AV certifications or manufacturer training, such as Extron, Crestron, or Certified Technology Specialist (CTS), are advantageous.
