Our family is in urgent need of an experienced and compassionate "Attendant for persons with disabilities - home care" to provide ongoing home care at our residence in Toronto, Ontario. The ideal candidate will BE CANADIAN CITIZEN / PERMANENT RESIDENT and have some relevant experience working as a Home Support Worker or a similar Caregiver role, tending to elderly individuals with high medical needs.
Job Requirements:
Language: English
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: 2 years around
Wage: $25.00 hourly / 30.00 to 40.00 hours per Week
Work site environment: Non-smoking
Work setting: Work in employer's/client's home. Relocation costs not covered by employer
Status: Permanent, Full Time
Work requirements: Early morning, Evening, Shift, Flexible hours, Morning, Night, On call, Weekend
Schedule: 8-hour, Monday to Friday. Overtime and weekends as needed.
Responsibilities & Tasks:
Administer bedside and personal care, Administer medications, Assist clients in water (i.e. pool), Assist clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene, Assist in regular exercise for example walk, Change non-sterile dressings, Collect specimens, Feed or assist in feeding, Launder clothing and household linens, Mend clothing and linens, Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties, Plan therapeutic diets and menus, Provide companionship
Provide personal care, Shop for food and household supplies, Prepare and serve nutritious meals, Cook, Transport patients to hospital or other medical facility for further medical care.

Work conditions and physical capabilities: Bending, crouching, kneeling, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Fast-paced environment, Physically demanding and Handling heavy loads occasionally, Repetitive tasks, Standing for extended periods, Work under pressure.
