Associate Attorney Job

Conduct legal research and analysis on U.S. laws and regulations related to international trade, including economic sanctions (OFAC), export controls (ITAR/EAR), customs, and national security foreign investment review (CFIUS). Draft legal memoranda, compliance policies, license applications, and regulatory filings for submission to U.S. government agencies. Advise clients on trade compliance requirements, regulatory risks, and obligations under U.S. and international trade laws. Assist in due diligence, risk assessments, and cross-border transactions involving global commerce and regulatory compliance. Support internal investigations, compliance audits, and preparation of voluntary disclosures to U.S. federal agencies, including BIS, OFAC, DOJ, and CBP. Monitor regulatory developments and provide updates on changes in trade laws and policies affecting clients. Support senior attorneys in providing legal advice and developing strategies for complex international trade and compliance matters. Report to the Managing Partner. The position is based at the employer’s headquarters in Washington, DC; however, telecommuting is permitted from anywhere in the United States.
