About the Role:
A well-established civil litigation law firm based in Tampa is seeking a Personal Injury Associate Attorney with a minimum of 5 years of experience to join a dynamic and collaborative legal team. This is a full-time, in-office position requiring strong litigation experience, particularly in trial and mediation settings.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage a diverse caseload of personal injury matters from inception through resolution
Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategy
Draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and court filings
Take and defend depositions (parties, witnesses, and experts)
Represent clients at hearings, mediations, inspections, and trials
Participate in settlement negotiations and mediations
Stay updated on case law, procedural rules, and industry developments
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure case readiness
Maintain accurate time records and meet billable requirements (minimum 150 hours/month)
Required Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Active Florida Bar license in good standing
Minimum 5 years of experience in personal injury law
Must have tried at least three cases
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of insurance defense case law
Experience across all phases of trial litigation
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, Lexis) and Microsoft Office
Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills
High attention to detail
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
Strong negotiation skills with a focus on favorable outcomes
