• Education: Completion of secondary/high school graduation certificate
• Work experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience as a Retail Store Manager or supervisor in a grocery store is required
Job Duties:
• Monitor and assess daily sales activities at the business to maximize performance and efficiency.
• Direct the clerks, meat cutter and retail store supervisor, delegating specific tasks to ensure seamless operations at the grocery store, liquor store and post office.
• Investigate local market conditions to gauge potential sales and understand the competitive landscape.
• Work with vendors to secure favorable terms for purchasing groceries, liquor, meat, post office supplies etc.
• Develop and execute strategies to boost sales and increase the store's presence within the community.
• Plan budgets, approve expenditures, and monitor revenue to maintain the store's financial stability.
• Evaluate the level of service provided, address customer inquiries, and resolve any issues that may occur.
• Oversee hiring, training, and retention initiatives to cultivate a skilled and dedicated team.
• May authorize customer transactions, including payments, refunds, and merchandise returns in accordance with company policies
• May monitor and maintain department inventory levels; coordinate and place orders to ensure adequate stock across grocery, liquor, deli, meat, produce, bakery, and postal service areas.
• May oversee store presentation standards by ensuring merchandising displays, signage, cleanliness, and overall store appearance meet company expectations.
• May perform other duties as required by the business
