Job Description:
The Designer/Architectural Technologist is accountable for working with the Design/Sales/Construction team and on occasion with the client, in designing and developing proposal drawings for clients, DP, BP, IFC drawings and providing interior design drafting support and assistance on a variety of engineering and technical related projects for Residential or occasionally small scale commercial construction projects.

Job Requirements:
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
1.Collaborating with clients to understand their needs, preferences, and budgetary constraints.
2.Creating DP plans incorporating client input and adhering to building codes and regulations.
3.Developing BP plans and detailed construction drawings and specifications for builders and subcontractors.
4.Conducting site visits and surveys to assess existing conditions and constraints.
5.Collaborating with engineers, interior designers, and other professionals to ensure the integration of all aspects of the design.
6.Reviewing and approving materials, finishes, and construction methods to ensure compliance with design intent and quality standards.
7.Providing support and guidance to construction teams throughout the building process.
8.Conducting periodic site inspections to monitor construction progress and ensure design specifications are being met.
9.Addressing any design-related issues or challenges that arise during construction.
10.Keeping abreast of industry trends, best practices, and new technologies in residential design and construction.
11.Maintaining accurate project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and correspondence.
12.Providing excellent customer service and fostering positive relationships with clients, builders, and subcontractors.
Qualifications:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Maintain client confidentiality.
Diploma in Architectural technology or a combination of equivalent experience and education will also be recognized.
Minimum 2 years’ related experience
Good organizational and time management skills.
The ability to work independently or as part of a team.
The ability to pay close attention to details.
The ability to work well under pressure and make responsible decisions quickly.
Complete knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of Products
Working knowledge of Revit Sketchup, AutoCAD
Detailed knowledge of and experience using Revit
Other drafting and rendering software would be the best asset.
Design Build experience with practical design experience would be an asset
Practical design sense for both exterior renderings and interior space planning
Experience in dealing with Governing Authorities/Planners with City of Calgary and MD Rockyview to make application and advance DP’s and BP’s drawings and Interior design drawings
