Architectural Conservator-Restorer Job

Identify common masonry problems when visually assessing a historic masonry structure. Differentiate between suitable and unsuitable materials as well as techniques for preservation of historic masonry structures. Write expert specifications based on industry standards and best practices for quality assurance and quality control over historic masonry preservation materials and techniques. Evaluate project-specific materials and techniques for preserving historic masonry structures in-situ against historic preservation industry standards and best practices. Work directly with specifiers to confirm masonry condition findings and to establish a clear scope of work for complex restoration projects. Assist in preparing the construction documents and/or reviewing the current specification requirements for the project.

Five years of experience in job offered or in conservation or restoration of architectural details. Special skills - Experience with conservation of historic facades and buildings or historic objects and performing conservation using color merging technique or coloristic unification. Frequent domestic travel required.
