12151227 Canada Inc. O/A Big Rigs Truck Centre has an immediate opening for an Apprentice Truck Mechanic (TEER: 72410) at our location in London, Ontario.
As an Apprentice Truck Mechanic (TEER: 72410), you will perform some or all of the following duties:
• Check Trucks, for proper performance and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions.
• Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required.
• Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems, using hand and power tools.
• Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications.
• A commercial transport truck's chassis, frame, cab, body, engine and drive train, air brakes, steering, fuel, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic systems can all be adjusted, repaired, or replaced
• Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on heavy trucks
• May attach components and adjust Trucks equipment.
Qualifications:
• Completion of secondary school is required.
• An interest in mechanical work, heavy-duty equipment, and a willingness to learn the trade is expected.
Note: While apprenticeship programs and related trade courses are typically required to become a certified truck mechanic, this is an entry-level apprentice role. The employer is open to training new hires who meet the basic education requirement and demonstrate a strong interest in the trade.
Terms of employment: Permanent, Full time (35 hours/week)
Compensation: $36.10/hour
