Experience
Up to 1 year experience of working in a relevant field is required.
Specific Skills
• Handle fire alarm device wiring, finishing interior devices, circuit terminations, and splicing.
• Work closely with journeymen to ensure accurate terminations and adherence to ITC and Axiom site standards.
• Run and terminate wiring for pull stations, smoke detectors, horns, strobes, and control modules.
• Make clean, accurate, and code-compliant connections for low-voltage fire alarm circuits.
• Assist with continuity checks, device testing, and troubleshooting under supervision.
• Read electrical drawings, circuit diagrams, and code specifications to plan wiring layouts.
• Pull wires through conduits and through openings in walls, ceilings, and floors.
• Install brackets, hangers, and supports for electrical equipment and fixtures.
• Assist with installing, replacing, and repairing lighting fixtures, switches, relays, circuit breaker panels, and other control and distribution equipment.
• Splice, join, and connect wires to fixtures and components to complete circuits.
• Test circuit continuity and system safety using electrical testing equipment after installations or repairs.
• Troubleshoot electrical and electronic systems, identifying faults and helping replace defective components.
• Connect electrical power to audio/visual systems, signalling devices, and HVAC equipment.
• Participate in preventive maintenance tasks and help maintain accurate service and maintenance records.
