Job Description:
MCool Pro Builders Ltd in Nanaimo, BC is looking for a Full-time position for Apprentice Carpenter to assist in running our growing firm and could join immediately.
Location: 337 View St. Nanaimo, BC V9R 4N8
Positions Available: 1 (One)
Anticipated Start date: As soon as possible.
Compensation: $36.60 per hour
Work hours: 30 hours/week
Terms: Full-Time

Job Duties and Responsibilities
Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to understand design specifications, determine layout, and identify materials and construction methods required.
Plan and prepare precise work layouts in compliance with building codes and safety regulations, using levels, measuring tapes, and other layout tools.
Measure, cut, shape, and assemble structural and finishing components made from wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other construction materials using hand and power tools.
Construct building structures, including setting foundations, installing floor joists and beams, laying subflooring, and erecting walls, partitions, and roofing frameworks.
Fit and install interior and exterior finishing elements, such as doors, stairs, windows, trim, mouldings, cabinetry, and hardware, ensuring proper alignment and fit.
Perform repair, maintenance, and renovation work on wooden structures in residential, commercial, and institutional buildings, including facilities like mills, mines, hospitals, and industrial plants.
Estimate material and labour costs, prepare cost projections, and assist in the preparation of project bids and client quotations.
Skill Requirements:
Education : Secondary School is required.
Experience : 7 months to 1 year
