Applications Programming Manager (Hybrid in Columbia, SC)

The Applications Programming Manager will oversee a team of technical professionals who provide application development, support, and consulting services for assigned applications. The manager will be readily available to monitor production and project work to ensure the quality of deliverables, work closely with upper management to develop and manage the department budget, and develop a staff training, development strategy, and plan. What you'll do

- Manage a team of 2-20 IT onshore and offshore resources.
- Assume the responsibility and ownership of 3-30 IT systems.
- Work with offshore contractor entities augmenting and supporting IT teams, projects, and production support work.
- Contribute to tactical and strategic IT and budget planning.
- Demonstrate exceptional execution qualities and act as an engaged leader with peers and others.
- Manages the software licenses and contracts for the Applications supported by the team.
- Ensures the team promptly addresses and resolves high-severity issues.
- Collaborates with other technical areas to create integrated solutions that are consistent with the enterprise architecture vision.

What you'll need

- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
- 8 - 10 years of IT system programming and design experience.
- Full technical knowledge of all phases of applications systems analysis and programming.
- Handles the most complex systems and product design projects; identifies changes in project scope.
- Demonstrate solid problem-solving and decision-making.
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
