Work Experience: Min 1 year supervisor experience or 2 years Apiary Experience is required
Job duties:
Supervising the harvesting of honey and preparing the facility in advance for the extraction and storage
Supervise and train for the movement of bees and hives to ensure top quality honey.
Assist in the development and implementation of farm safety procedures and train new people
Supervise the extraction crew and ensure equipment is working properly
Train worker and ensure that they work in a safe and responsible manner
May participate in the operation of machinery and equipment as required
Coordinate, assign and supervise the work of apiary workers and harvesting labourers
Supervise, monitor and enforce procedures to maintain bees health and welfare
Supervise maintenance of infrastructure, equipment, and supplies including building new hives, improving and repairing existing hives.
Supervise and complete manual cleaning and refurbishing of existing hives at end of the season to prepare them for the upcoming season over down time months
Ensure farm safety and security are followed
Maintain quality control and production records
May perform general farm duties
Other duties that apply
Job Requirements:
Min 1 year supervisor experience or 2 years Apiary Experience is required
Supervisors are expected to do the work of others on the farm and lead by example
Transfer skills to employees
Punctual
Attention to detail
work for long periods of time and in all weather conditions
Be able to lift 90lbs repeatedly
Not allergic to pollen and bees
Work overtime as required
Early morning, evening and weekends required
