Job Description:
Responsibilities will include oversight and management of the lease administration process and related accounting. The position will support the Accounting Director with items related to Lease Administration, Accounts Receivable, CAM reconciliation, and other projects as required. This role will partner with the Senior Analyst, Financial Analyst and Accounting teams, within and outside the US.

- Reviews and directs the work performed by Accenture, an India-based lease accounting and administration team related to the set-up of all new leases, amendments/renewals, holdovers, month-to-month leases and master leases, including lease abstraction and subsequent set-up in the MRI accounting system
- Provides instruction, guidance, and support to internal and external staff in all aspects of lease administration including lease contract interpretation, business processes and application of accounting rules
- Reviews and analyzes accounts receivable and lease administration processes to monitor accuracy and timeliness
- Works closely with Financial Analyst to ensure accuracy of master leasing data for leasing statistics and analysis
- Works with the legal department and field market leasing personnel to identify opportunities to add value during the leasing process and to ensure timely receipt of all executed leasing documents
- Identifies and assists in implementation of process improvements (e.g. CAM pool standardization, CAM reconciliation project approach, etc.) Individual is the internal subject matter expert on lease configuration for accounting system
- Monitors key reports for accuracy and propriety
- Works with internal and external audit functions to support audit activities
- Responds to ad hoc requests from operations and accounting leaders effectively and timely
- A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related experience
- 2-4 years of real estate experience required
- Good working knowledge of leases and lease administration
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), internal control processes, and relevant practices and processes required
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, lease administration and accounting systems (MRI experience preferred)
- Ability to effectively communicate and interact with other departments, superiors, and peers is required
