Previous experience with and demonstrated ability to use invisible mending techniques
Experience with tools and equipment for rebuilding damaged garments
Experience with clothing, curtains, furniture fabrics, cushions including suit fabrics, wool and cashmere
Understanding of different cloth structure including woven, knitting, crochet, felted, etc.
Understanding of color theory and how materials age
Maintain a positive and supportive work environment
Responsibilities
Make made-to-measure garments according to customer and manufacturing specifications
Fit, alter and repair garments as required
Make, alter or re-style fur garments and accessories
Design patterns to fit measurements
Mark, cut and sew fabric
Estimate materials, tools and equipment required for projects
Perform minor repairs and adjustments to equipment
Mend clothing and linens
Operate machines to join sections of garments or other articles into finished products on a piece-work or production basis
