Advanced Services Engineer Job

Work directly on customer networks as key member in cross-functional team comprised of hardware and software engineering, system test engineering and accounts. Responsible for testing, prototyping and supporting networking designs and solutions that will get implemented in production networks, involving writing scripts that help mitigate certain network conditions or collect data for further analysis. Troubleshoot complex networks, provide operational support and technical expertise to customers, and travel to customer sites if needed. Provide design guidelines and recommend improvements to customers for networks they support, provide feedback to product management and engineering, and participate in multi-vendor testing. Design network test topologies and test cases to validate customer requirements. Install equipment and fixtures for tests. Run tests for troubleshooting failures, document and track bugs. Identify and report bugs to engineering and customers (bug scrubs). Communicate with development and support organizations to track and resolve problems. Facilitate communications and problem resolution. Evaluate customer proof of concept test requests, develop test plans and work with systems test engineering to execute the plans. Put together design guidelines and recommend improvements to customers for the networks they support. Interact with customers, auditing current network implementations and collecting data for new designs.
