Advanced Care Technician (ACT) (Paramedic License Required) Job

To provide care to patients at Cook Childrens Medical Center under the direction of a physician or nurse. To perform support functions related to unit operations. To support and supplement the health care team in designated areas of the hospital. Rate 2 shifts are identified by the Emergency Management Team.

• High School Diploma.
• Completion of accredited paramedic training.
• At least two (2) years experience as a paramedic.
• Paramedic Certification or Licensure.
• AHA Basic Life Support

Short Stay is a recently expanded 30 bed unit which focuses on the rapid throughput of admissions accepted from the Emergency Department. The unique interdisciplinary approach of having a provider present on the unit 24 hours a day, 7 Days a week allows for continuous collaboration to maintain quality patient care. This position requires strong prioritization skills and adaptability in a fast paced work environment.
