About the Role:
Reporting to the accounting manager, the Accounting Technician will play a crucial role in our financial operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management, experience as a Financial Manager, and proficiency in accounting software systems.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
• Contact customers to follow-up on payments and collections.
• Apply payments, update accounts, and data in the system.
• Post journal entries with appropriate working papers and supporting documentation.
• Post accruals, adjusting entries, and reclass entries for month-end.
• Inspect transactions for discrepancies and compliance with internal controls and policies.
• Ensure that all journal entries are accurately prepared by deadlines and that general ledger accounts are reconciled on a timely basis.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including intercompany transactions.
• Assist in the preparation of additional reporting packages for senior management.
• Assist with the preparation of budget and forecasts.
• Perform variance analysis and reconciliation of GL accounts.
• Perform other accounting, administrative, or analysis duties as assigned.

• College Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2 to 3 years' experience in an accountant role.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
