Job Description:
The Accounting Technician will perform the following duties:
· Record, organize, and maintain complete financial transaction data using both computerized and manual accounting systems.
· Set up and update various ledgers and subsidiary accounts, ensuring entries are posted accurately and promptly.
· Prepare interim trial balances, reconcile discrepancies, and assist in the preparation of financial summaries and statements.
· Process payroll and payment transactions, including vendor invoices, utilities, and government remittances.
· Prepare and submit periodic filings such as HST, WSIB, and employee benefit contributions in accordance with government requirements.
· Compile information for tax reporting and assist in preparing corporate and employee tax documents.
· Conduct regular account reconciliations and investigate variances or irregularities to maintain accuracy in records.
· Generate financial and statistical reports that support management in budgeting, forecasting, and business decisions.
· Support internal accounting controls and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and compliance.

Job Requirements:
• Completion of a college diploma in accounting, bookkeeping, or equivalent experience ;
• Alternatively, completion of accounting or bookkeeping courses combined with at least 2 years of experience in a financial or accounting clerk role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting software and computerized bookkeeping systems.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet reporting deadlines.
