Accounting Manager (New York, NY) Job

Duties:
-Generate and review financial statements, budgets, and monthly/annual reports. Generate financial projection.
-Oversee accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR), including client billing and collections.
-Ensure compliance with legal industry regulations, such as trust accounting rules for client funds.
-Manage Interest on Lawyers' Trust Accounts (IOLTA) and ensure proper handling of client funds.
-Reconcile trust accounts and maintain accurate records to comply with state bar association rules.
-Develop and monitor budgets to control costs and improve profitability.
-Forecast and manage cash flow, ensuring the firm meets its financial obligations.
-Oversee payroll processing and ensure accurate tax withholdings.
-Ensure compliance with state, federal, and local tax laws.
-Internal Controls & Compliance
-Implement internal controls to prevent fraud and financial mismanagement.
-Ensure adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), understand both accrual basis and cash basis and legal industry-specific accounting regulations.
-Manage legal- accounting software Caret.

Requirements:
-Master’s degree in Accounting;
-Two years of experience managing AR, AP, reimbursement, cash flow report, bank account reconciliation, depreciation internal cost analysis, monthly, quarterly and annually financial statement preparation, and annual auditing process.
-Knowledge of project budgeting, data analysis and forecasting models.
