Job Description:
The 3D Artist/Designer will support the visual development of VolleyR’s VR environments, courts, arenas, avatars, interface assets, and other interactive content. The role will help translate the company’s established brand identity and product concepts into visually coherent assets suitable for immersive gameplay.
The position will work closely with VR developers and relevant product stakeholders to ensure that visual content is both creatively aligned and technically appropriate for the target hardware environment. Particular attention will be given to performance-aware asset creation, visual consistency, readability, and user experience within VR.
Key Responsibilities
* Create and refine 3D assets for courts, arenas, environmental elements, and other in-game spaces.
* Support development of avatar assets, skins, props, and selected interactive visual elements.
* Produce assets that align with VolleyR’s established brand identity, visual language, and intended user experience.
* Work with the VR development team to ensure that 3D assets are suitable for integration into the selected engine environment.
* Optimize models, textures, materials, lighting, and other visual elements for target VR hardware.
* Support performance-aware production practices appropriate to real-time immersive environments.
* Contribute to visual development of menus, interface elements, arena-selection experiences, and other in-game presentation systems where appropriate.
* Support refinement of the company’s existing prototype environments as development progresses.
* Prepare concept references, visual mockups, asset variations, and design documentation where needed.
* Maintain organized file structures, naming conventions, asset records, and version-control practices.
* Participate in reviews of visual consistency, readability, scale, spatial clarity, and comfort within VR.
* Coordinate with the Game and VR Developer on technical integration and optimization.
* Support production of approved screenshots, visual demonstrations, and marketing-related product assets where appropriate.
* Follow brand standards, confidentiality requirements, intellectual-property procedures, and approved third-party asset practices.
* Maintain documentation regarding internally created and externally sourced assets where required.

Job Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree or diploma in 3D Animation, Game Art, Digital Media, Interactive Design, Visual Effects, Graphic Design, or a related field; equivalent portfolio-based experience may be considered.
* Generally 3+ years of professional experience in 3D art, game art, real-time environments, interactive media, VR/AR content, or a related field.
* Strong portfolio demonstrating relevant 3D modelling, environment, character, or interactive-design capability.
* Proficiency with industry-standard 3D tools such as Blender, Maya, 3ds Max, ZBrush, Substance 3D, or comparable software.
* Familiarity with Unity and/or Unreal Engine asset workflows.
* Understanding of polygon optimization, UV mapping, materials, textures, lighting, and real-time rendering.
* Ability to create visually coherent assets that remain suitable for performance-constrained environments.
* Familiarity with VR design considerations such as scale, readability, spatial clarity, and user comfort is an asset.
* Strong understanding of visual consistency and brand alignment.
* Ability to collaborate effectively with developers, product stakeholders, and marketing contributors.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to asset documentation and file management.
