1 Hairstylist Job

Title of Position: 1 Hairstylist
Terms of Employment: Full-time, year-round work

Duties:

• Cut, trim, taper, curl, wave, perm, and style hair
• Apply bleach, tints, dyes, or rinses to color
• Clean and style wigs and hair pieces
• Apply hair extensions
• Analyze hair and scalp conditions and provide basic treatment or advice on beauty care treatments.
• Proficiency with the latest salon techniques
• Proficiency with the use of equipment needed to perform technical work.
• May shampoo and rinse hair
• May perform receptionist duties and order supplies
• Clean and style wigs and hair pieces

• Completion of Secondary School.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a hairstylist or completing a hairstyling program at a college or similar institution, alongside gaining practical experience through on-the-job training is required.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
• May be required standing for an extended period of time.
• Fluent in English
• Ability to provide exceptional guest service, understanding the guest’s needs, providing quality consultations, and performing service requested in an efficient and professional manner
• Completion of a hair design college or similar program is an asset
• Experience working with all types of hair is an asset.

Wages: $ 18.50/hr. for 40 hrs. per week.
Work Location: Abbotsford, BC
Language: Ability to communicate in English
