Experience: DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE (DOD) CIVIL SERVICE, OKLAHOMA CITY, OK Aircraft Engine Mechanic Mar 2009–Apr 2019 Obtained comprehensive experience in assembling and disassembling jet aircraft engines, including TF33-P103 engine for B-52 bomber, TF33-P100 engine for E-3, and F101 engine for B1 bomber Fulfilled key maintenance and technical-related functions involving: - Assembly and modification of major aircraft components and accessories, such as compressor sections, rotors, combustion sections, turbines, gearboxes, fan sections, and augmenters - Adjustment, testing, and repair of external aircraft components including fuel pumps, starter motors, fuel controls, and hydraulic pumps - Detection of engine malfunction through visual observation, disassembling, and parts measurement for deviation from specs, as well as with the use of automated test equipment - Installation of aircraft accessories to complete final buildup of aircraft - Troubleshooting of conventional and modified aircraft engines on flight line, test cells, and maintenance shops, while determining degree of needed repairs Offered technical advices and support to managers, equipment users, senior leaders, and maintenance technicians in suggesting corrective actions to complex maintenance problems and design deficiencies of assigned unit, while providing expert and technical recommendations during reviews, conferences, and accident, system, and equipment failure investigations Established and executed standard policies and procedures for the assigned unit, while ensuring strict compliance with all security and safety practices Used special test equipment and execute informal training to ensure fulfillment of unit demands in a proper manner Worked as journeyman jet engine mechanic in charge of aircraft engine inspections, overhaul operations, machining, metal processing, assembly, and testing Provided consultation to other workers and facilitate training on job tasks and safety procedures for lower graded employees and co-workers Carried out the inspection, assembly, and reconditioning of subassembly engines Took charge of breaking down major assemblies in proper sequence, identifying reusability of disassembled parts, and examining wiring harnesses, hydraulic items, fuel lines, fittings, and connections to detect faulty, worn, and unserviceable parts Scheduled day-to-day tasks to ensure all production requirements are met ahead of the set schedule Accessed technical order reference materials and manufacturers' manuals in computers to define sequence of work and process, while positioning of parts and critical tolerances required for assembly of major components and complete engines
