Experience: Confidential, Ithaca, NY, USA Postdoctoral Associate 2016 Conducted research on nitrogen and carbon forms in soil under various management systems in New York. Studied organic matter stabilization in different management practices in agriculture through a global, untargeted metabolomics approach. Gathered deep core soils from four different agricultural fields, which were administered through organic and conventional cultural practices. Analyzed soil samples from different horizons of agricultural field soils to identify the quantity of chlorophyll, chitin, low molecular weight phenols, proteins, and deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA). Initiated and conducted greenhouse study through the design and oversight of rhizosphere columns to study the quality and quantity of organic nitrogen and carbon forms, while utilizing organic management system using
covercrops against conventional system through fertilizers to grow wheat. Facilitated the training of students on several laboratory techniques to analyze soil samples. Utilized liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (LC-MS); inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectroscopy (ICP-OES); carbon, hydrogen, and nitrogen (CHN) analyzer; X-ray diffraction; attenuated total reflectance
-Fourier transform infrared (ATR-FTIR) and ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) spectrophotometer in analyzing soil samples. Fulfilled laboratory management and analysis for soil samples for nutrients, along with biomolecules, such as chlorophyll, chitin, DNA, phenols, and proteins.
Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, LA, USA Graduate Research Assistant 2012–2015 Worked on different research projects regarding a wide range of crops, such as soybean, rice, wheat, sugarcane, corn, in collaboration with other extension agents and producers in Louisiana. Took charge of crop management by monitoring crop growth while utilizing remote sensing tools. Educated visiting scholars on research methods, including field and laboratory work. Oversaw and analyzed plant and soil samples for macro and micronutrients. Introduced standards on silicon analysis of soil and plant with different chemical analysis procedures. Developed and administered various greenhouse studies. Performed and administered field trials with different crops. Participated in various field days throughout tenure, which included: Crop Production Field day in St Joseph, LA in 2013; Sugarcane Field Day in Benhur, LA in 2013; Crop Production Field day in St Joseph, LA in 2014; and Sugarcane Field Day in Benhur, LA in 2014.
University of Agricultural Sciences, Bengaluru, India Graduate Research Assistant 2010–2012 Collaborated with small farm holders to conduct soil surveys in India. Facilitated seminars regarding various crop production topics in the Department of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry. Served a key role in the organization and participation in the National Symposium on Silicon in Agriculture in Bengaluru in 2012, which was sponsored by AGRIPOWER, Australia. Completed laboratory analysis by setting up experiments and studying plant nutrients and heavy metals, such as cadmium. Oversaw the setup of various field and greenhouse trials with crops, such as finger millet, corn, and rice.
