Objective:
Looking for either full-time work or internship opportunities in a manufacturing/welding environment to better implement practical utilization of welding theory studied in trade school and college.

Contract Mig Welder for Aerotek at Nissan Forklift Corporation íV Marengo, IL
Primary duty involves assembling, tacking, and welding of tanks for forklift frames. Primary welding process is Mig.

The Associate of Applied Science degree in welding topics of study include welding troubleshooting; reading complex welding prints; weld cost estimation; hands on layout; plasma and oxy fuel optical tracer cutting; brazing and oxy acetylene welding; cast aluminum repair; and other operations. Also included additional study in math, communications, materials of the industry, machine tool operations, and other technical electives. Specific focus of study on the following:
- Advanced Stick Welding (All positions and joints)
- Seam-welding
- Advanced Tig Welding
o Aluminum (including square and round pipes)
o Cast aluminum repairs
o mild steel and carbon steel
o Stainless steel (including round pipes)
o flat, horizontal, and fixed positions
- Advanced Mig Welding (All positions and joints)
- Plasma cutting processes (Handheld and with PlasmaCam)
- Oxy/acetylene welding and cutting
- Machine Lath Operations (metal)
- Understanding and use of calipers and micrometers
- Drilling press and tapping operations
- Oxy-propylene cutting
- Blueprint reading for welding
