Dear recruiting manager,
My name is Na Zhang, a fifth year graduate student at University of California-Riverside, finishing Ph.D.'s degree in Analytical Chemistry by this summer. I am interested in the Scientist position. My qualifications make me well suited to the projects areas in which your division is expanding efforts.
I have participated in a series of research projects involving biosensing surface design and characterization, biomolecule quantitative detection, novel material synthesis and analysis, immunoassay, microfluidics; those wide research backgrounds have supplied me with solid skills including the detail protocols development and optimization, instrumental analysis, organic synthesis, biology analysis, data interpretation, documentation, and multi-tasking capability.
The course studies and cumulative examinations enable me to have a solid fundamental understanding in the analytical field including optical spectroscopy, Separations (chemical separation and chromatography), Nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMR), Mass Spectrometry (MS), electrochemistry, electronics, and bioanalytical chemistry.
Three quarters teaching experience of instrumental analysis for senior chemistry students allow me to further gain the hands-on experience and develop the strong capability in troubleshooting, problem solving in a variety of instrumental analysis experiments.
Five years teaching experience at college level allow me to lead a group, to convey the chemistry knowledge and to create a good learning environment. Especially the experience of being administrative teaching assistant greatly improves my leadership ability in the team-work task and develops excellent oral and written communication skills.
My enclosed resume provides additional details about my background and expertise.
Thank you in advance for your consideration. I look forward to discussing what could be a mutually beneficial and professional relationship.
