Objective:
My goal is to work in a health & wellness facility
where I can help promote lifestyle modification with
individuals who aspire to become healthy and live
longer lives. I want to help people improve their
current health status by prescribing appropriate
exercise for their current level, and then gradually
increase workloads to improve their fitness. I am a
very active person and am concentrated on
achieving long and short-term goals for myself and
for others. I am currently training for the
Tallahassee Marathon and have participated in
Tough Mudder along with three half marathons
within the past year and a half. I want to gain
experience in the field of Health and Wellness where
I can help others experience a higher quality of life.
I have had two internships working as an Exercise
Physiologist in Cardiac and Pulmonary
Rehabilitation and realized I am good at helping
people. I enjoy interacting with a variety of
individuals and want to educate them on ways to
enhance their current lifestyles through physical
activity, nutrition, behavioral modification, etc.
Working in a health and wellness facility will expose
me to different fields in Exercise Science and
Health.


Experience:
I. Heat-Stress Research Lab Assistant at University
of South Florida
(September-Early November 2012)
1. Record temperatures from thermometers
using a wet-bulb, dry-bulb, rectal, calf, thigh, arm,
chest, and GI pill analyzer for male participants
testing different cooling vests at 35 and 40
degrees Celsius.
II. Interned at Peninsula Regional Medical Center-
Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehabilitation (September
2011-December 2011)
1. Observed Nuclear ETT, PFT, CABG/Valve
Surgery, Pacemaker, AICD Insertion,
Echocardiogram, Metabolic Test, Lung Surgery, and
Cardiac Catherization
2. Used Cardiac Science Telemetry Monitor to
monitor EKG’s while Patients were exercising
3. Devised Three Exercise Prescriptions and
Reviewed with patients
4. Took Exercising and Resting Blood Pressures
5. Used glucometer to check blood sugars pre
and post exercise
6. Oriented a new Phase II/III Patient on their first
day
