SCIENTIFIC ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

• Created high throughput antigen specific ELISA assays as an alternative to western blotting to analyze total and acetylated histones in tissue culture cells and PBMC’S of cancer patients in clinical trial with oral SAHA (Aton) Vorinostat (Merck)
• Created a whole cell ELISA assay to measure the HDAC levels in different cancer cell lines
• Developed an infected cell ELISA to titer virus stocks for PIV-1, PIV-3
• Obtained US patents for solving problems in the development of reagents for red cell FACS analysis
• Generated restriction site PCR product influenza genes for direct cloning into expression vectors
• Created an in-gel cloning ligation/transformation method that increased the success rate of cloning genes
• Purified F and HN protein of PIV-3 from infected mammalian cells by monoclonal antibody specific affinity chromatography
• Developed antigen specific ELISA’s to detect antibodies to F and HN antigens of PIV-3
• Prepared neutralizing monoclonal antibodies to F and HN antigens of PIV-3
• Purified bulk quantity of recombinant NP antigen from influenza virus for use in crystal structure analysis
