Re: 3091650 – Senior Project Manager

Mr. Kevin Cain,

Please accept the accompanying resume as an expression of my interest in teaming up with ESI in the capacity of Project Manager. I believe that the combination of my rigorous academic and professional credentials, PMP Certification, and profound commitment to delivering projects on schedule, within budget, and with adherence to the highest quality standards, will enable me to make a significant contribution. As you may have heard, a major restructuring took place recently within Bausch + Lomb, Inc. with the result that my position was eliminated. I am thus in the process of exploring the best possible fit for my background and experience. With ESI continually articulated commitment to excellence within a competitive environment, I know that I would be honored to work for such an organization in driving and delivering the results being sought. We have a common connection with APQC as I, too, worked with them to share best practices in product innovation.

As you will note, I hold a MBA, BA, and I was re-certified as a PMP in 2010. Since transitioning from an exclusively technical background at B+L to project management in 2002, I like to believe that I offer a unique and multifaceted background. I have had responsibility for planning, scheduling, and directing matrixed teams pursuant to the rollout of a number of application, business, and operations initiatives. From initial concept through launch, I have been highly successful in organizing and leading my teams in all aspects of determining customer requirements and translating them into workable, operational plans. My MBA has proved to be very helpful over the past several years in providing me with the financial and operations skill set so as to be able to judiciously establish, monitor, and review project resources, costs, operational budgets, risks, and staffing requirements. Previous work as a programmer and system analyst has similarly enabled me to provide collective value to the IT department, and I am proud of the fact that I have been regarded by managers and colleagues alike as a key resource throughout the R&D organization at Bausch + Lomb.

You will find me to be an excellent communicator with strong organizational, leadership, and staff development skills. I am adept at regularly keeping everyone in the loop, vis a vis contingency planning, continuous improvements, new technologies, and best practices. I work well with all members of the organization and am respected by managers, colleagues, subordinates, and vendors for my ability to negotiate effectively on behalf of my firm. I continually strive to steward a team in the delivery of projects that exceed customer expectations, and I look forward to doing the same for you.

In closing, I welcome the opportunity to meet with you at your convenience, both to learn more about your project management needs, as well as to discuss how I can best contribute to your ongoing growth and success.

Thank you in advance for your review of my credentials.

Janet L. Rothfuss, PMP
