ADMINISTRATION:
I have been responsible for ADMINISTRATION and FINANCE over the last (10) years. I have had to interact with Administration to structure work force as budget dictated. The recent loss of state funds over the last several years has forced the township to reduce the work force, which involved the review of State Civil Service guidelines, as we were intent on minimizing the impact to the community by keeping the most experienced staff possible. A clear understanding of positions was necessary as well as flexibility with regard to re-positioning and/or combining of job duties under those State Guidelines. This of course was important as it reduced the liability on the township with regard to possible grievances filed by the union work force.
I have lead contract negotiations with both salaried and non-salaried work force and was responsible for the creation of a review committee to review performance and goal attainment of Administrator and Department Heads.

As Department Supervisor of Shipping for Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Corporation, managing a 99-acre open stockyard and train yard, I interacted with union officials and collective bargaining agents to resolve labor-related disputes and negotiate local contracts.

As CDW Technology Sales Manager, I have mastered various technology initiatives, and am very comfortable advancing technology development plans.

FINANCE:
As Township Official, primary responsibilities involved reviewing capital budget from previous year and aiding Administration to prepare and present to Committee, and the General Public, the current year budget appropriations. Within the area of finance, clear understanding of loss of revenue streams as well as opportunities to increase revenues through development, grants, and fees where applicable. All efforts have been made to reduce debt service; and because of reduced interest rates, bonding was initiated thus minimizing financial strain on township.

As Transportation & Logistics Manager for Yellow Freight Systems, I serviced over $16.2M in annual revenues from LTL, Truckload, and International sales. As Department Head of Stocking & Shipping for Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel, I managed a $41M budget.

INFRASTRUCTURE:
As Township Official, I have developed a (10) year road plan and reviewed various areas of infrastructure to create priority list of work and timetable to be completed. Several areas of concern were drainage, which included both underground piping as well as retention ponds. Another issue to be dealt with was tree root encroachment impacting both drainage and various areas of sidewalks.
Application for grants have allowed us to maintain schedule established, and the creation of an open space tax has permitted funds to be used in the maintenance of open space areas and recreation fields as well. I have had to work closely with Engineering Firms involved in repair and reconstruction as well as new projects from conception to completion. I have a working knowledge of blueprints and legends associated with typical prints. Also, have working knowledge of ordinances as they relate to work within township and the interaction with Zoning and Planning Board to approve proposed development and projects within the township.

As CDW Technology Sales Manager, I have acknowledged and promoted the idea that an integral part of any corporation's infrastructure success, whether private or public, is its willingness to invest in its future by investing in technology.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT:
As Township Official, I founded and co-chaired committee to seek and attract Developers and Financial institutions with the intention to increase the ratable and reduce the tax burden on residents. Involved in the rehab of Iron Gate Apartments which banked units toward COAH obligations, negotiated the location of Burlington Coat Distribution Center, WA-WA, Dunkin Donuts - Baskin Robbins, Jonathan Motors, Auto Zone and completion of Silver Park - a 55+ active community. We are currently finishing completion of Crossroads at Edgewater Park, which is going to be a Professional Medical Arts Facility. This project has taken (6) years and involved bringing together State, County and Local Entities and involved approaching various bodies including Burlington County Freeholders for low interest financing.

As CDW Technology Sales Manager, I have developed the concept of gauging economic development in terms of technology development. Using effective technology enhances any business' economic success.

SCHOOL BOARD:
From 1995-2000, I was a member of the School Board and it's President for the year 1999-2000 until my election to the Township Committee in 2000. This experience allowed me to witness first hand, the interaction of Administration and Teachers, and afforded me the opportunity to become part of the internal process necessary to shape a productive Educational Environment.
Worked on financial committee to forecast and create school budget and review proposed changes in curriculum and personnel. Negotiated Teacher Contracts and worked with Engineers to make necessary improvements to buildings and grounds. These improvements enhanced the environment for the children and teaching staff. I helped write the Education Grant for Technology, which secured the funds to establish one of the first Elementary Computer Labs in the county.
