Objective:

Oversight of the training function and administration of the day-to-day training activities of the Meraux Refinery for approximately 260 hourly and salaried employees in a union environment
Ensured regulatory and operator certification compliance for process employees
Oversee the training compliance of the Process Operator Qualification Program
Developed job title specific training matrixes for 36 process operator, and 2 quality lab job functions
Updated EH&S regulatory training requirements by consulting with EH&S leadership and reviewing and comparing existing training program with OSHA API 1200, DOT 49 C.F.R, EPA, and state of Louisiana standards
Revised existing Operator Training Procedure to provide an easier method for shift supervisors and their employees to comply with their training requirements
Improved the logistics and deliverables on the on-boarding program for new employees (New Employee Orientation), increasing its effectiveness by 30%
Improved the quality of the Process Operator Basic Operator Training (BOT) curriculum by 20% using feedback from shift supervisors and process operators
Updated the BOT Training Outline being used by the local community college to teach new hired process operators by adding new course modules and improved learning content which is better aligned to the actual jobs at the refinery
Developed job title specific strike preparedness Operator Contingency Curriculums for 100 salary staff employees in event of a union strike
Implemented and coordinated internal training resources of Subject Matter Experts, Process Specialists, and Field Trainers to help conduct hands-on technical skills training projects requested from operations and maintenance managers
Served as Meraux Refinery Training Subject Matter Expert and Human Resources Consultant to line supervision in HR policy administration and employee work performance issues
Served as change agent on the plant leadership reorganization and development new roles and responsibilities for each function
Coordinated and contracted third-party training providers in specialized regulatory hazwoper, hazmat, fire training, forklift/manlift, technical and mechanical skills, and supervisor skills development when internal resources were not available
Coordinated the development and technical review meetings on a three year project of the Process Operator Training Manuals

Coordinated a project on the transfer of approximately 10,000 plus paper based training records to digital media
