Sales and Marketing
Solid background and experience in sales and marketing for highly respected fastener and electromechanical hardware distributor. Organized trade shows as well as dealt with all aspects of the manufacturing arena. The very nature of the fastener world has given me an education not taught in schools, as I have been exposed to a vast array of manufacturing concerns and seen first hand the intricacies involved in their every day functioning. I have interfaced with all levels of manufacturing personnel. I have also worked for major recording company as sales representative.
Served long tenure in purchasing department of local OEM manufacturing concern. I met or exceeded all goals specified by management and was asked to stay on staff once notice of departure was given.
Had managed and eventually owned part of a highly recommended local restaurant. Was on board from day one and had full responsibility for all aspects of every day business.
Organizational Team Building
I am currently involved in the functioning and organization of a local non profit, charitable concern that promotes concerts featuring musicians from various areas with the ultimate goal being the distribution of funds back into local needs of musically oriented entities (school music departments etc.). This is in response to the continuing tightening of school budgets etc. I also have been involved in charity raising activities to benefit Autism, sick and those in need.
Managed local record stores as well as worked in other retail, restaurants and golf courses. I have also worked for record/tape/software wholesaler.
Century Fasteners Corp.-Columbia, S.C. 1998-2009
I was responsible for sales and marketing in the entire State of South Carolina. This entails establishment as well as maintenance of accounts that often involves supply chain management and interaction with suppliers and trade show functions. Managed to secure huge quote packages and interaction from some of the largest global companies as well as established relationships with concerns of all economic size. I organized and monitored In-Plant Stores and various Vendor Managed Inventory Programs, interfacing with management, purchasing, quality, engineering, accounting and warehouse personnel.
ESCOD Industries-North Myrtle Beach, S.C. 1988-1998
Purchasing agent involved in buying/inventory management and all aspects of the functioning OEM manufacturer. Set up consignment and integrated supply oriented vehicles. Involved in searching and finding solutions to manufacturing problems and issues. Was one half of purchasing team that handled four manufacturing locations that included a prison facility in the state. Exceeded or met all inventory reduction goals ever presented, as well as negotiated payment terms and contracts.
Island Deli-Pawley’s Island, S.C. 1985-1988
Managed and owned part of local restaurant noted for fine food and service. Was instrumental in organizing and set up of operation from the start to the selling of my share back to partner. Established quality reputation and relationships that last to this day.
