Objective:
To obtain employment in the design or advertising industry utilizing my Creative Director experience, my graphic design and/or electronic media production skills, as well as my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Communication and Digital Design

CREATIVE DIRECTOR EXPERIENCE
NOTABLE ACCOMPLISHMENTS
• Took publication from paste-up to full pagination
• Took publication from 20 pages to 28 pages with 2 sections—have created 32 page publications
• Upgraded Production Department from Quark XPress 4.11 to Adobe InDesign CS; updated and
reformatted files for use with the new software
• Wrote, designed, and updated a Standard Operations Manual for the Production Department
• Increased efficiency and productivity within the Production Department by creating templates,
organizing the computer filing system, developing file naming specifications, developing an
organizational system for keeping track of all ads scheduled to run, creating Adobe Photoshop
actions, and ergonomically rearranging the department to better utilize available space

WEEKLY DUTIES
• Designed, formatted, and paginated approximately 120 display ads and 130 special type ads
• Uploaded approximately 120 display ads to the National web site
• Determined font size and leading for reader ads based on available space for the current week
• Paginated approximately 1,200 classified reader ads, 100 bordered ads, and 130 special type ads
• Designed, formatted and updated house ads; created section headers
• Designed logos and maps for clients, scanned images, downloaded images from digital cameras,
and created clipping paths in Photoshop for utilization in ad designs
• Worked closely with Sales Staff to create display ads and ensure all ads listed on the run sheet
were accounted for
• Emailed ad proofs to clients, and discussed copy changes with clients in person and via telephone
• Downloaded and formatted ads from the National Web site for inclusion in the printed publication
• Determined paper layout
• Created the press package/Transferred files to the press
• Maintained paper and electronic data archives

• Conducted interviews and testing, in addition to training for the Graphic Designer and Assistant
Graphic Designer positions
• Provided technical support, including reformatting hard drives, installing software, software
updates and peripherals, transferring files to newly purchased computers, and troubleshooting
both Mac and PC computers as well as laser printer problems
• Assisted with purchasing decisions for supplies, software, computers and laser printers
• Developed flyers and sales documents as well as created promotional issue
layouts and spec ads for the Sales Department
• Answered phones, assisted walk-in customers, and took ads on an as needed basis
