Objective:

Engine Room or Oil Rig Maintenance or to become qualified as a
Roustabout. Will contribute 25+ years of maritime experience to
maintain high levels of ship safety and operational efficiency.

commercial shippers. Experience overseeing deck, cargo, and crew
operations as well as actively participating in all aspects of
shipboard life (chores, sail prep, stowing of personal gear, group

unloading, loading, and distributing cargo on-board. Able to
training/develop skill levels of personnel, delegate assignments,

Senior Mate

Established a proven record career growth and experience with the
leading carrier on America's inland waterways that operates one of
the largest towboat fleets with vessels ranging from 800 horsepower
to over 10,500 horsepower. Held a leadership role for coordinating
the safety, efficient transportation of grain, coal, fertilizers,
ores, stone, alloys, steel, and coke and scrap metals in a fleet of
open and covered hopper barges.

* Worked directly with and implemented Captain's directions for
running the vessel, including direct sail setting and preparing for
docking.

* Held primary responsibility for managing and maintaining vessel
sails, rigging, and finish work.

* Maintained ship stability and coordinated special care for
hazardous cargoes.

* Assigned/rotated chores to crew and supervised loading, stowage,
securing, and unloading of cargoes.

search & rescue, ship systems and procedures, and general ship board
activities.
