Job Description:
Install, troubleshoot, and maintain the following mass spectrometry equipment: Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometers, Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometers, Accelerator Mass Spectrometers, Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometers, Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometers, and similar.
The Job:
*** Install new instrumentation at client labs.
*** Schedule and perform preventative maintenance.
*** Order and manage repair parts.
*** Maintain service logs and internal service records.
*** Resolve delivery issues.
*** Ensure proper calibration.
*** Train and guide junior service engineers.
Must be familiar with ionization, acceleration, deflection, and detection stages, as well as the components within each stage:
IONIZATION:
*** Ion Source
*** Cathode/Anode
*** Electron Trap
ACCELERATION:
*** Charged Plates
*** Ion Accelerator
*** Beam Focusing
DEFLECTION:
*** Electromagnet/Quadrupole
*** Flight Tube

*** Amplifiers
*** Chart recorder
