Job Summary
Performs general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge (but no proficiency) in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry and electrical work.

Responsibilities
• Replaces electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors.
• Uses plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings.
• Repairs or replaces sinks, water coolers, and toilets.
• Paints structures and equipment.
• Repairs or replaces concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks.
• Replaces damaged paneling and floor tiles.
• Hangs doors and installs door locks and replaces broken window panes.
• Performs general maintenance on equipment and machinery.
• Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs., squat, bend, stoop and kneel for short periods, climb a ladder, stand for long periods of time, constant arm extensions.
• Occasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, but none to the point of being disagreeable. May involve minor safety hazards where likely result would be cuts, bruises, etc.

Job Requirements:
Qualifications
• GED or High School Graduate
• Experience working in an outdoor or indoor building environment
• Able to understand verbal or written direction from lead, supervisor or other craftsmen
• General Plumbing: Fix plumbing leaks in water and sanitary pipes, replace faucets, valves and accessories, unclog waste water and condensate pipes, replace filters, fix water fountains and hangers or supports for fixtures, replace automatic sensors in plumbing fixtures.
• General Maintenance: Replace filters in ice machines. Replace and clean honeycombs in coolers. Check and replace drain pan for evaporators. Repack glands in pumps. Fix doors roll up doors, hinges, door closures, and broken push-bars. Put sliding doors and roll-up doors on track if they go out of track. Repair or replace air curtains. Fix minor holes and cracks in floors and interior building surfaces. Caulk windows. Perform limited painting up to 200 sq. ft. in surface area.
• General Electrical: Replace lights when needed in coolers, freezers and other areas, sales floor, backrooms, and bathrooms; replace electric breakers, 120-volt outlets, and/or GFI receptacles. Will replace batteries for local alarms such as at panic doors and Detex alarms on a yearly basis. Check and make sure that the generator is operable.
• General Controls: Replace thermometers and sensors in coolers and freezers. Reset automatic door sensors.
• Miscellaneous: Check and fix miscellaneous items such as loose floor tile, kick plates, door bolts, door handles, damper in air handler unit; grease roll up doors; replace valves; replace oven seals; replace locks for internal doors.
