Data Engineer (San Antonio, TX)
ASM Research is looking for a Data Engineer to support development and operations of AIP -- an analytics platform as a service -- focusing on engineering of data pipelines and database administration.
Key responsibilities include:
Architect, design, and implement updates and enhancements to data repositories and indices to support data ingest, enrichment, analysis, visualization, and dissemination.
Perform database engineering and management activities associated with designing, maintaining, and enhancing data analytic systems using an Agile DevSecOps model.
Integrate data from multiple sources in batches and real-time.
Review, design, and develop data quality management processes and automated procedures intended to produce high levels of data integrity.
Research and recommend solutions to complex problems.
Perform research and development and provide technical support to identify and integrate new and emerging technologies into the data environment.
Design and implement storage and indexing strategies to provide efficient storage and retrieval to support visualizations such as graph-based and geospatial.
Support design and development of data access APIs that allow enterprise access to data.
Develop or provide input to engineering artifacts associated with the data repositories
Minimum Skills & Qualifications:
1-2 years of related experience and bachelor's degree in computer science, information engineering, information systems, or other related discipline.
1-2 years hands-on experience designing and implementing data integration, Big Data, and/or business intelligence solutions
1-2 years hands-on experience in ETL design, and development in large scale data environment
1-2 years hands-on experience with SQL relational databases: PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL etc...
1-2 years hands-on experience with python as a scripting language
1-2 years hands-on experience with AWS or Azure
Strong SQL and data modelling skills
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
2-3 years of related experience and master's degree in computer science, information engineering, information systems, or other related discipline.
