Job Description:
Responsible for design and development, tech packages/drawings, sample request sheets/spec sheets, confirmation/fitting for women’s fashion and accessories.

• Design, produce, and present new designs that are on-trend and align with strategic and brand concept.
• Work with Brand Manager/Director, overseas development team, and other design staff to design and develop products (women’s apparel, shoes and accessories).
• Render new design concepts (sketches, actual product design and final approved prototypes) using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and other computer-aided design tools/technologies and ensure all designs are technically feasible, manufacturable and achievable within cost parameters.
• Evaluate and modify product designs to meet end-cost goals and product specifications.
• Work with sourcing to drive development and sourcing of materials and fabrics.
• Work directly with our fashion design counterpart in China to manufacture designs, including providing technical drawing for the factory to understand and communicating material and process, revisions, construction, pattern, texture, color, trim, fit, aesthetic finish, and tooling.
• Coordinate with executive management team and Brand Managers to ensure all samples are designed and detailed to meet aesthetic and target pricing goals and that all samples are completed on time and meet/exceed quality-aesthetic standards.
• Conduct research to identify trends, competitive direction, customer expectations and consumer perceptions; study and interpret market trends; trend forecast; and integrate all research into thought process and design.
• Attend major trade and fashion shows for market research.
• Coordinate activities of Design Assistant/s, Interns and other junior team members.
• Ensure that design department is organized and that the materials/fabric library is maintained.


Job Requirements:
Requires: Bachelor’s degree in fashion design or fashion merchandising and 6 months of experience in job offered or related fashion/apparel design occupation.
