Job Description:

The Product Management Senior Manager is responsible for defining and driving GMAC Connect's product strategy and implementing new platforms that support the discovery and engagement process between schools and candidates. This includes defining market requirements, developing and managing vendor relationships, coordinating with internal and outsourced development teams, creating critical product documentation, and developing and maintaining the roadmap. This position involves close business interaction with vendors, development leads, product architects, and key customers, as well as internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Aggregate market feedback and define user requirements and use cases for various school and candidate-facing discovery and engagement products.

  • Collaborate with various business leads and different GMAC subsidiaries to create business proposals for new products or product enhancements that justify their pursuit.

  • Develop and manage the product roadmap, including the Tours business.

  • Partner with business unit to develop the product strategy.

  • Develop and maintain the product roadmap based on competitive industry analysis, market research and business analysis.

  • Participate in validation of roadmap initiatives through combination of approaches such as in-market tests, pilots, analyses, and research.

  • Develop business cases and analysis plans to prioritize roadmap initiatives for execution.

  • Lead key initiative updates and gate reviews.

  • Develop go-to-market launch plans for new platforms and enhancements, including:

  • User stories, use cases, and business requirements;

  • Detailed functional requirements;

  • Product positioning statements for new and existing products; and

  • Internal and external partner groups for GTM planning and execution.

  • Conduct ongoing research and user testing to determine user needs and viability of proposed functionality.

  • Understand, track and manage product performance, and identify opportunities for improvement across the entire customer lifecycle.

  • Leverage research, consumer insights, and data analytics to continually define and inform ongoing product strategy.

  • Manage proactive communications with relevant stakeholders.

  • Serve as a liaison between the development teams and the product line owners to ensure technology-related projects are launched on-time and per business requirements.

  • Manage launch and day-to-day operations of assigned products.

  • Support development of sales and marketing collateral, campaigns, and training materials.

  • Other responsibilities and duties, as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 5 years' experience in related field; Or equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience.

  • Bachelor's degree in related field and/or certification.

  • Strong understanding and comfort with technology products and solutions.

  • Strong project management skills and understanding how to manage the priorities of multiple stakeholders in a complex environment.

  • Exceptional organizational, project planning, and time management skills.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and in a team setting, and across external and internal stakeholder groups.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills particularly with distributed teams; comfortable communicating to variety of stakeholders with different angles of the product and different goals.

  • Strong attention to detail, with a keen focus on quality.

  • Strong analytical skills.

  • Comfort with multi-tasking.

Desired skills/experience:

  • Master's Degree in business, marketing, or related field; MBA preferred.

  • Key attributes such as curiosity, customer empathy, and the ability to prioritize.

  • Experience with Agile, Lean Start Up and Test & Learn approaches.

  • Experience with data and analytics software (PowerBI, Tableau, Google Analytics etc.).

  • Experience working with customer insights, and in product development and/or management.

  • Proven financial skills in the development of business cases and market entry plans.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work across cross-functional and matrixed structures.
